The Bible in 90 Days - Day 11

Day 11 (Num. 8:15 – Num. 21:7) Rebellion

Numbers 14:18 (NKJV)

18 ‘The LORD is longsuffering and abundant in mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression; but He by no means clears the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation.

What causes one to try and do it one’s own way? Why is it we grumble and complain when it appears life doesn’t go the way we plan. Do we not know that what we see is not always the way it truly is? How many times must we go around the same mountain. Why are we still wandering in the desert?

Our Lord knows exactly what he is doing. When he speaks to us and tells us to do a particular task at a given moment in a select manner, we are not to question him if we desire to be blessed.

By changing any of the aspects of his command we are rebelling. With rebellion comes punishment. Punishment can come in the form of a delay in the blessing that the Lord had planned for us.

But the grace and mercy of the Lord can be had. Confession and repentance pleases the Lord.
