Day 15 - Blessings & Obedience - (Deut. 23:12 – Deut. 34:12)

Deut. 28:1-6 (NKJV)

1 “Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the LORD your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. 2 And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the LORD your God: 3 “Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country. 4 “Blessed shall be the fruit of your body, the produce of your ground and the increase of your herds, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks. 5 “Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl. 6 “Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out.

Deut. 28:11,13 (NKJV)

11 And the LORD will grant you plenty of goods, in the fruit of your body, in the increase of your livestock, and in the produce of your ground, in the land of which the LORD swore to your fathers to give you. 13 And the LORD will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them.

The Lord wants us to obey him, just as a child obeys his natural father. He has our best interest at heart. It should not be difficult for us to do as he asks. But we allow our selves to get in the way. Too often we want things our way when we want them and are so busy trying to have it our way that we miss out on the blessings that the Lord has for us.

We sometimes say “How come I don’t hear the Lord as others hear him”? It is not that we don’t hear him it is that we have so much non essential communication going on that we often misread the signals. God does not always talk to us in a loud booming voice, most of the time it is in the small silent voice that he speaks the loudest.

Are you listening to what it is that he is trying to say? Stop, be still and obey. You will be amazed at the blessings that he has in store for you.

Follow the Journey.
