Day 3 (Gen. 28:20 – Gen. 40:11)

Jealousy & Deceit

Genesis 31:1-3 (NKJV)

1 Now Jacob heard the words of Laban’s sons, saying, “Jacob has taken away all that was our father’s, and from what was our father’s he has acquired all this wealth.” 2 And Jacob saw the countenance of Laban, and indeed it was not favorable toward him as before. 3 Then the LORD said to Jacob, “Return to the land of your fathers and to your family, and I will be with you.”

Each of us has been given a specific position in God’s Kingdom. A purpose and plan was put into place even before you were born. Your blessings are based on your relationship with the Father and your fulfilling his purpose for you.

You can not place yourself in your brother’s or sister’s position and expect to live a blessed life. Jealousy of your brother’s success blocks you from achieving your own. The Lord’s mercy ad grace can not and will not cover you if you covet your neighbor’s house.

Do not try to receive what is not destined for you. Your life will be spent chasing someone else’s dream. Jealousy and deceit will destroy you. You will always be unhappy fighting unnecessary battles. Remember the battle is not your’s it is the Lord’s.

Spend time with the Father and ask him what his plans are for your life. Give your life to him and he will reveal all the blessings that have your name written on them.
